This is not the exact info you want, but my grandmother was a Katalin Palenik, born in Oroszlany, Komarom, Hungary in 1876. Emigrated to US in 1910 on steamship Carpathia. Might we be related? I've been trying to do research on Easter European roots.

I am sorry Lynn, that is not the same one Katarina Palenik.The
one who I know about was born as Katarina Misech in Kalnica, Slovakia/ that time hungary/, later married to Jan Palenik from Potvorice.

hi I am Misechova from Prievidza. I ve been just looking for name misechova on internet and there this side showed up, its interesting, I never knew there was someone from Misech family emigrating to USA. Actually, i didnt even know, there is somebody else with this name ;/

momentalne zijem uz par rokov v UK..moji prastari rodicia sa volali Misech, z Potvoric polovica ich rodiny emigrovala do USA,okolo 1890-1920, uz len jeden member z Misech family zije v trencine.Snazim sa zistit viac, pocas 60 rokov,min.storocia,rodina z USA, prichadzala na Sk,dokonca moja mama si ich pamata,ale po 1968 sa vsetko zmenilo..
Tiez som nevedela ze je este viac Misechovych na Slovensku..A dokonca v Prievidzi, ja pochadzam z noveho mesta nad vahom..
Jedna otazka, ake mas vieroviznanie, alebo akeho vierovyznania boli vasi predkovia? lutherans?viem ,ze sa vam to zda mozno nepodstatne, ale vsetky mena, boli zapisane vtedy len v cirkev.matrikach a velmi mi to pomohlo pri hladani..
viem, ze moji predkovia, boli velmi silny lutherans..
co vlastne vy hladate?predkov?alebo len zvedavost, ak mozem pomoct tak pomozem..
